Preston Lodge consolidated their position at the summit of the Arnold Clark National League 3 table, with a hard fought victory over Hillhead Jordanhill, outscoring their hosts by four tries to two. Preston's third scored by Paul GLYNN after his forwards had pilfered possession, was the best of the four I felt.
Thus Hillhead Jordanhill remain in seventh place, just six points ahead of foot of the table Orkney.
As may be guessed from the name, Hillhead Jordanhill RFC was formed following the amalgamation in 1988 of two clubs: named not surprisingly Hillhead RFC and Jordanhill RFC. Oddly enough, Hughenden where the current club play is in neither Hillhead nor Jordanhill, but in Hyndland - it being one of a cluster of five rugby grounds in north west Glasgow.
